Memorial of the 10th anniversary of the death of Father Albert Bolle

On January 26, 2024, the tenth anniversary of the death of Flemish Father Albert Bolle in Tanzania was commemorated with a moving Mass, reflecting the profound impact of his admirable life and work. The church that Father Bolle himself built in his beloved Igunga was packed with over 1,000 people, including three bishops and many priests and sisters, but especially countless well-known friends who had come to know Father Bolle during the more than 50 years he worked as a missionary in Africa.

The celebration was accompanied musically by an 80-member choir, and those present shared countless warm memories of the man who touched so many lives with his remarkable personality and selfless work ethic.

Extensive reflection was given to his tireless dedication, his drive, and his deep connection with the communities he served, but especially to his lasting impact on the people who knew him.

It was therefore heart-warming to see how Father Bolle's spirit and touchingly simple way of life still lives on in the minds and hearts of so many, and how even ten years after his death he continues to inspire people more than ever to do the same.
